When you watch a dance performance, it's easy to think, Wow, that's so easy! That's because it is a dancer's job to make it look easy. You would not believe how many hours go into the rehearsal process to make a dance piece look flawless. Dancers work extremely hard and make the perfect additions to any office. Here are 10 reasons why:

1. We are used to being team players.

We understand the value of teamwork. There is no individual success if the group is failing. We help each other out so that the finished product is the best it can be. Each dancer must be a team player in order for the performance to appear seamless.

2. We are analytical.

Dancers are experts at specification. When learning a new phrase, a dancer needs to analyze every part of the body in every moment. We have an eye for precision and we are very critical. The work we produce is very detailed, and we like it that way.

3. We are always on time.

There is a very important phrase in the dance world. If you are fifteen minutes early, you are early. If you are ten minutes early, you are on time. If you are five minutes early, you are late. Time is valuable, and we won't waste it.

4. We are masters of innovation.

We are fearless creators. Many times, dancers are told to improvise in class or during a performance. In an office setting, this means we aren't afraid to pitch creative ideas.

5. We make great leaders.

At one time or another, we have all filled the role of a choreographer or a leader of a rehearsal process. We know how to be direct and fix problems while respecting the people around us. We are never afraid to take on leadership and we always produce results.

6. No work is too tedious for us.

Patience is a virtue...that we have. We understand the importance of repetition. Our precision is a result of the hours we dedicated to rehearsals. Those triple pirouettes didn't happen overnight.

7. No schedule is too busy for us.

If you look in a dancer's planner, you might feel a wave of anxiety sweep over you. A dancer's schedule is as jam-packed as a politician's. We are great at prioritizing our time and checking off every task on our to-do lists.

8. We have a tough skin.

If you have ever attended a live ballet performance, you probably have thought, Dancers are so delicate and graceful. Truth is, we are tougher than we look. Every dancer has either had a teacher or a choreographer who believed in tough-love. We are used to being on the tail-end of insults, scrutiny, corrections, criticism, and sometimes screaming. Also, have you met a dance mom? Try standing up to one. We have.

9. We are quick learners.

Choreography must be learned and perfected within a time frame. Often, the time frame is very short. Memorizing choreography after only being taught once or twice is a skill we pride ourselves on. Other times, we are told to teach ourselves choreography from video recordings. Imagine that skill utilized when training staff how to use software.

10. Self-motivation is in our blood.

Nobody can motivate you to do the work, and dancers know this all too well. We are well aware that the dance world is small and the paying dance world is much smaller. Simply, if you aren't motivated, you won't get a job. Even professional dancers can be found going back to the basics, constantly working on improvement. We know how to keep ourselves busy and never waste time.
